Lewis Hamilton idolises himself.
A pompous turd who avoided paying £16.5m in tax by using an Isle of Man scheme but still tries to portray himself as a ‘man of the people’. No ones buying it and I don’t think the irony is lost on anyone that he Tweeted support to Captain Tom Moore, a 100-year white war hero who has raised millions of pounds for charity whilst Hamilton is a black non-domicile worth an estimated $500 million who persists on claiming to be persecuted.
Just last week Hamilton talked about how he tried to encourage the Formula 1 governing body to recognise the work done by Colin Kaepernick to raise awareness for Black Lives Matter. However, I think that would open up challenging questions to which Hamilton is unable to answer. If Kaepernick is oppressed by his ancestors being slaves in America 400-years ago what argument does Hamilton have for his crusade against supposed black oppression in the UK?
Lewis Hamilton’s grandfather was a member of the Windrush Generation who was invited over from the Caribbean following the end of World War 2 in 1960 to help rebuild the UK. Hamilton’s ancestors haven’t experienced slavery. Unlike the six million modern-day slaves currently in Africa Hamilton choose to ignore.
At the weekend Hamilton criticised Formula 1 for not allowing racers enough time to show solidarity to Black Lives Matter. Considering Black Lives Matter’s self-proclaimed mission on its website is to dismantle the concept of a family structure:
“We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages””
Why should Formula 1, or any sports organisation, support the dismantling of the institution which has created its fan base. Why would Formula 1 want to eat itself?
In 2019 the average age of a Formula One driver was 28 years and 3 months. At 35-years Hamilton is in his senior years when it comes to being a world class racing driver. Yes he may go on for many more years at the highest level but the odds are stacked against him.
Lewis Hamilton is just throwing his private jet toy out of the pram. Terrified that he will become irrelevant once his career in professional sport ends. He almost reminds me of Colin Kaepernick, who at 32 is seemingly retired from professional sport and just signed a lucrative contract with Disney which will help to keep him in the spotlight.
Very few retired Formula 1 drivers receive invites to the Met Gala.
